As for our goal to provide customized products, we are eager to supply the most economical and reliable complete solution with the highest performance. Working closely together with our customers, AeroLas’ engineers and physicists work out concepts which are realized afterwards.

AeroLas’ service portfolio includes all steps necessary to develop and manufacture air bearings and air-guided drives. All of our core competencies within the development are adjusted to unique, customized series: Without a doubt, these core competencies make up the “heart" of AeroLas.

In order to ensure the technological advance and support for innovations, we focus our development activities on the basic principles and theoretical foundations. Mainly static and dynamic behaviors of air bearings play an important role with regard to mechanic issues. Without a doubt: AeroLas’ ability to provide individually designed, exactly calculated air bearings with a self-developed software, is unique. Given this software, we are able to simulate, for instance, load, stiffness, tilt stiffness, and air consumption with dependence on load (force/moment) statically and dynamically (with damping and natural frequency). These calculations can be realized even for spindles with the highest rotary speed or high accelerated or ultra-precise linear sliders.

It is tremendously important to adjust the components to each other in order to fully take advantage of the high performance of an air-guided direct drive. As for the drive itself, our priorities focus around building efficient algorithms in order to control and monitor the condition of a drive. The condition monitoring of the drive play a key role for ensuring a high quality in the feedback position controlled operation. Highly modern signal processing concepts as, for instance, the oversampling methods are used. As for a simulation tool, we make use of MATLAB/SIMULINK. This tool allows us to analyze all processes included in the control and measuring technology. Afterward we implement these processes on our own high-performance electronic hardware with DSP and FPGA. In order to allow a high precision without facing any motor losses, our main priorities within the performance electronics focus around providing a high-quality power controller.

Together with dynamic models of mechanism and air bearings, there is also the possibility to simulate complete drives. With these analysis results, we adjust the control structure, which is very flexible, exactly to the application desired.
